ABOUT ME
I started my career in fine art, where I focused on pushing the boundaries of realism by creating illustrations and paintings that put a fictional twist on everyday scenes.

I majored in design studies and minored in creative writing at North Carolina State University. Through my education, I combined my love for writing and research with art and design. I was able to explore all the different sides that art and design had to offer. I developed skills in 3D design, fashion design, and social design. I also learned how to integrate strategy and research into all of my designs. I even developed a 30-page research piece that took a multidisciplinary look at the role of layout design in effective communication as a part of my capstone.

I joined Platform Magazine in 2019 as a graphic designer, where I fell in love with the publishing industry. After two years, I became the creative director and then the editor-in-chief. During my tenure at Platform, I was able to lead and work with cross-functional teams, create effective schedules to meet deadlines, and discover the role of storytelling through design.

I also interned as a graphic designer at Oasis Publishing. During my time with Oasis, I unlocked my skills in a whole different avenue of graphic design; web and social media design. To elevate the publisher's online presence, I redesigned their entire website with a more modern and user-friendly interface. I also proposed a social posting schedule, templated posts, and content ideas to increase engagement.

I am currently a graphic designer at Financial Independence Group, where I design logos and marketing materials for independent financial advisors to elevate their brand and increase client prospecting/retention. In this position I have learned the importance of having consistent branding and strategic marketing in order for a business to flourish. I have also gained lots of experience working directly with clients to help their vision come to life.
